The Paid Search Manager is responsible for leading and managing members of a team of paid search practitioners at Pepperjam. The role will also include compiling and presenting strategic initiatives to clients and assembling internal POVs & other documents to streamline paid search processes. This candidate is a future search marketing leader who has already achieved the tactical and client facing skills, and is ready to scale their abilities.

This person needs to be willing and able to lead and inspire team members on the day-to-day responsibilities of paid search management. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter and has prior experience managing a client's day-to-day paid search campaign activities. Planning and executing the overarching strategy for paid search is also a key part of this roll. They must also have the experience and ability to troubleshoot and resolve account issues that arise.



The candidate should have a strong interest & knowledge in search marketing, analytical acuity, Excel skills and strong client communication skills are also required. This is a full-time position located Wilkes-Barre, PA, or Conshohocken, PA. This position may require some travel for client business or industry trainings.


  • Mentor and lead paid search practitioners in the day-to-day development, creation, launch and optimization of search campaigns across multiple clients
  • Become certified within 90 days of hire in the use of Kenshoo Enterprise, Adobe Media Optimizer, Google Analytics/Shopping & Bing Ads (if not already)
  • Master the use of Kenshoo Enterprise, Adobe, Google AdWords, and Bing AdCenter and ensure mastery exists across your team
  • Train and develop paid search practitioners on best practices and emerging trends & testing new offerings & technologies where appropriate
  • Assemble POVs and compile other research and department process documents on emerging trends in the search industry
  • Track/Forecast monthly budgets on a daily basis to ensure each account hits client defined spend/revenue goal
  • Compile/QA weekly reporting and insights prior to sending to the client
  • Participate with other senior team members in leading weekly team meetings
  • Work with Finance team to manage IOs, reconciliation and billing
  • Research keywords
  • Write and test ad copy to drive highest CTR and conversion rate
  • Build Excel-based reports using pivot tables and v-lookup skills
  • Run A/B split tests for landing pages, products, and ad copy
  • Conduct ongoing testing with team members including A/B split tests for landing pages and ad copy to increase overall account efficiencies and improve performance

  • Work closely with vendors and media companies including Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft


  • 3-5 years of search experience, preferably with ecommerce/retail focus
  • Prior experience overseeing and mentoring a team member is required
  • Google AdWords Certification required
  • Knowledge of Adobe, Kenshoo, or other similar bid management tool required
  • Google Shopping experience required
  • Solid understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising, as well as an understanding of media concepts and terms and paid search/SEO concepts
  • Must possess strong written, presentation and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Experience with retail or B2B clients is a plus
  • Effective communication and conversational agility
  • Must have the ability and desire to help lead, and a willingness to work with and teach others within the group, guiding on various projects related to the search discipline
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
